PERSONNAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

1. The data controller

The following information is provided so that you may become aware of the personal data protection commitments of the Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR), a public administrative establishment located at 86 rue Regnault 75013 Paris, France, which acts as data controller for the personal data processing operations referred to in this document.

3. The personal data we process

As part of the processing of personal data from this website, the ANR collects and processes the following data:

  • Name and address of coordinating institution;
  • Date of thesis defence ;
  • Curriculum vitae ;
  • Professional details ;
  • ORCID number (unique number for each researcher, optional) ;
  • Hal number (optional) ;
  • Id-REF number (optional) ;
  • Fields of activity ;
  • Titles ;
  • Position (current and previous) ;
  • Place of work ;
  • Organisation ;
  • Data concerning the project (surname, first name of the promoter, theme of the project, acronym and title of the project, project partners, amounts and resources allocated to the project, state of progress of the projects);

4. The purposes and legal bases of data processing

a. Purposes of data processing

The data processing implemented by the ANR has the following purposes:

  • submission and evaluation of research projects (national and international) ;
  • monitoring and management of indicators ;
  • impact analysis ;
  • data analysis for statistical purposes (project impact, feedback from the year's evaluation);
  • management of the various stages in the life of projects: submission, evaluation, contracting, monitoring and production of indicators;
  • project submission and evaluation flows ;
  • steering and monitoring of projects (submitted and selected) ;
  • monitoring and steering evaluations ;
  • organisation of meetings, seminars, colloquia, whether interactive and via the Internet or not;
  • information on events that the ANR organises, co-organises or participates in,
  • Ensuring that there are no conflicts of interest between researchers and evaluators;
  • public communication of information relating to projects (first and last names of coordinators, acronyms and project titles, etc.).

b. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the personal data processing carried out by the ANR, the legal bases envisaged are among the following:

  • the performance of a mission of public interest ;

5. Recipients of your data

The personal data collected is intended for the authorised persons of the ANR, in its capacity as data controller or, where applicable, its service providers or sub-contractors.

Certain personal data may be sent to third parties or legally authorised authorities in order to meet our legal, regulatory or contractual obligations.

6. Transfers of your data

In the context of a programme and/or call for projects, the ANR may transfer your personal data to third countries to the partner agencies of the said programme and/or call.

Where applicable, each transfer will be subject to the appropriate and adapted guarantees provided for by the RGPD.

7. Data retention period

In the context of a funded project, the personal data collected is kept for the duration of the project and then archived for a period of 15 years from the date of the decision to grant the aid.

8. Your individual rights

The General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data confers the following individual rights on data subjects:

  • the right of access, which gives the data subject the right to obtain from the controller confirmation as to whether or not personal data relating to him or her are being processed and, where they are, access to the said data;
  • the right of rectification, which gives the data subject the right to obtain from the controller the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to object, which gives the data subject the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data;
  • the right to erasure or the right to be forgotten, which gives the data subject the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data;
  • the right to restrict processing, which gives data subjects the right to restrict the processing of their personal data in certain cases defined by the RGPD;
  • the right to withdraw your consent at any time, where such consent is the legal basis for the processing, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on consent carried out prior to the withdrawal of consent;
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL in France, without prejudice to any other administrative or legal remedy.

In addition, the Data Protection Act provides for the possibility of defining instructions relating to the retention, deletion and communication of your personal data after your death, with a trusted third party, certified and responsible for ensuring that the wishes of the deceased are respected, in accordance with the requirements of the applicable legal framework.

In principle, you may exercise all your rights free of charge. However, with regard to the right of access, you may be asked to pay a reasonable fee based on administrative costs for any additional copy of the data you request.

In any event, the ANR will inform you if it is unable to comply with your requests.
